Mosaic Welcomes New Board Member Komal Rasheed

Washington, D.C., July 19, 2021 - Mosaic, the Muslim Federal Employee Association, welcomes Komal Rasheed to the Mosaic Executive Board as an At-Large Member. She joins in her personal capacity.
Komal comes to Mosaic with over 15 years of federal experience with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). She was featured in Mosaic’s 2021 Public Service Recognition Week social media takeover.

Komal’s work centers on the development and implementation of strategies, initiatives and programs that drive long-term efficiencies within the federal government and with its partners. She currently serves as an advisor and analyst at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in New York City where in addition to her duties, she serves as the regional advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) programming.
Prior to her current role, Komal served as Senior Advisor to the Administrator of GSA, working on the formation of 18F, public private partnership efforts, and the agency’s Top to Bottom (T2B) reviews, an effort leading to an annual savings of over $50 million. Komal also served as a Foreign Affairs Officer, program manager, and Acting Deputy Director of Community Engagement in Islamabad at the Department of State. Her work focused on public diplomacy, countering violent extremism efforts and building civil society in South and Central Asia.
Komal is passionate about DEIA and womens’ issues. She previously served as the Vice President of the Peaceful Families Project (PFP), a national initiative devoted to ending domestic violence in Muslim families.
