Code of Conduct

Mosaic – Muslim Federal Employee Association (Mosaic Feds) is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all members, board members, advisory board members, and invited guest speakers.

Purpose & Scope

Mosaic – Muslim Federal Employee Association (Mosaic Feds) is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all members, board members, advisory board members, and invited guest speakers.

The Code of Conduct for Mosaic Feds outlines expectations for behavior and addresses issues such as discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment), and ethical conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all individuals associated with Mosaic Feds, including:

  • Executive Board Members

  • Advisory Board Members

  • General Members

  • Volunteers

  • Invited Guest Speakers

  • Any individual attending or participating in Mosaic Feds events, programs, or communications.

Expected Behavior

All individuals covered under this policy must:

  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and respect toward others.

  • Foster an environment that promotes inclusivity.

  • Conduct themselves in a lawful and ethical manner in all organizational activities.

  • Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing non-profit organizations.

  • Respect confidentiality, where applicable.

Prohibited Conduct

The following behavior is strictly prohibited:

Discrimination and Harassment: No individual shall discriminate against or harass another based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Sexual Harassment: There is a zero tolerance policy on sexual harassment, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors.

  • Inappropriate or unwelcome touching, physical contact, or gestures.

  • Sexually suggestive comments, jokes, emails, or social media interactions.

  • Display of sexually explicit or offensive materials.

  • Any other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

Bullying and Intimidation:

  • Any form of bullying, intimidation, or abuse of power, whether in person or online, is prohibited.

  • This includes verbal abuse, derogatory remarks, or conduct that undermines an individual’s dignity or well-being.

Conflicts of Interest:

  • Individuals must disclose any personal or financial interest that may conflict with the mission or operations of the organization.

  • No one shall use their position within Mosaic Feds for personal gain.

Retaliation:

  • Retaliation against anyone who reports misconduct or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited.

Reporting Violations

  • Violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported to the President of the organization. If a complaint is against the President of the organization, the Director of Operations will lead the investigation and determine corrective actions, in consultation with the other board members (excluding the President).  

  • Complaints can be submitted in writing or verbally and will be treated with confidentiality, to the extent possible.

  • The organization will investigate all reports and take appropriate corrective action.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Suspension or removal from board or membership

  • Banning from future participation in organization events or holding leadership position within the organization

  • Legal action, if applicable

Acknowledgment

All board members, members, volunteers, and invited speakers must acknowledge and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct before engaging with Mosaic Feds.
